Uninvited U.S. Surprised When Russia Damages Drone Over Syria
Robert Ford, the former Obama ambassador to Syria, called on American troops to come home in a letter to Congress
The U.S., which has been occupying a portion of Syria since 2015 under the auspices of cashing down ISIS terrorists, blamed Russia for damaging a MQ-Reaper drone over the country and severely damaging its propeller.
The U.S. accused Russia of harassing the drone on Sunday and “deploying flares from a position directly overhead” from a Russian SU-35 fighter. The Aviation Geek Club says the Russian fighter “matches or even exceeds the capabilities of the latest upgrades for the F-15.”
The U.S. Air Force blamed Russia for its “blatant disregard for flight safety detracts from our mission to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS. We call upon the Russian forces in Syria to put an immediate end to this reckless, unprovoked, and unprofessional behavior.”
Russia did not respond in media reports. The drone managed to land safely.
WARMONGER NULAND GETS A RAISE!
Tensions between Moscow and Washington are high in Syria. Russia said recently that a U.S. F-16 fighter jet used its "guidance systems” to home in on a plane of the Russian Aerospace Forces last week over the country.
Rear Adm. Oleg Gurinov, the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the opposing parties in Syria, told Tass, the Russian news outlet, that there have been 10 violations in Syrian airspace, committed by four pairs of F-16 fighters and one pair of Rafale fighters of the ‘coalition.’ He said these violations occurred in the Al Tanf zone, “an area where international air traffic routes are located.”
The U.S. is considering military options to respond to alleged acts of aggression by Russian fighter pilots over Syria, reports said last week.
Last spring, we reported on how the U.S. accused the Russian Air Force of trying to “dogfight” American pilots over Syria, and have continually noted that the U.S. has illegally invaded Syria while Russia was invited into the country by Syrian President Assad.
U.S. troops have been in Syria since 2015 with the mandate to assist local forces in the fight against ISIS. There are about 900 U.S. troops currently stationed in Syria and an unknown number of mercenaries.
As Gerald Celente has been stating since America’s illegal invasion of Iraq, based on lies that Saddam Hussain had weapons of mass destruction, “Do you think America would invade if Iraq’s major export was broccoli?” The same with Syria and Libya… it’s all about oil and U.S. geopolitical hegemony.
Robert Ford, the former Obama ambassador to Syria, called on American troops to come home in a letter to Congress. He said American forces have achieved success in degrading ISIS, but they have little chance of stopping recruitment, and, in the meantime, “have been regularly subject to attack by pro-Iranian militias allied to the Assad government.”
TRENDPOST: Last March, Syria’s President Bashar Assad met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow to discuss military and political cooperation.
