The government media office in Gaza said Friday that five “massacres” have occurred across the city in a "flagrant... violation of the sanctity of the blessed month of Ramadan," Middle East Eye reported.

Gazan officials said another 20 people were killed waiting to receive aid on Thursday.

"We hold the American administration and the international community, in addition to the Israeli occupation, fully responsible for the crime of genocide, and we hold them responsible for the war of starvation and famine," the media office said, according to the report.

Ismailm Haniyeh, a top Hamas political leader, said Sunday that his group wanted an agreement that ends the war, calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, returns displaced Palestinians to their homes, and provides for the humanitarian needs of Gazans.

The agreement would have come in two stages, according to Reuters.

Hamas would release women, children, the elderly, and those injured who have been held in exchange for more than 700 Palestinian prisoners in Israel. Israel believes about 130 hostages are still alive.

The Financial Times reported: “Mediators have previously stated that an initial truce would last for six weeks. The second stage of the agreement, according to reports of Hamas’s response, would include discussions regarding a permanent ceasefire, a full Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza and the release of the remaining hostages in return for all Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.”

Netanyahu approved plans for an attack on Rafah, reports said.
