U.S. Can't Let Putin Gain Control of Ukraine's Mineral Wealth: GRAHAM
Senator explains why Washington is so committed to supporting Ukraine's war against Russia -- and it's not for "Democracy."
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., one of Washington’s biggest war hawks, explained to CBS News on Sunday the real reason the U.S. is so committed to Ukraine’s war effort against Russia: money.
Graham explained that Ukraine is sitting on up to $12 trillion in “critical minerals,” and it needs to be the U.S. that decides who gets the prize.
“They could be the richest country in all of Europe,” he argued. “I don't want to give that money and those assets to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to share with China. If we help you Ukraine now, they could become the best business partner we've ever dreamed of.”

He continued, “This is a very big deal how Ukraine ends.”
Up until this point – and including U.S. President Joe Biden’s recent bullshit comments in Normandy – Washington has attempted to portray Ukraine as a European bulwark against a maniacal Putin intent on conquering the continent.
Graham has been one of the biggest proponents of more weapons for Ukraine in Congress and has said, “Defeating Putin is priceless.” He has called publicly for the assassination of Putin at least twice.
An edited video emerged in 2023 that showed the senator meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and pointing out that Russians are dying in the war.
“It’s the best money we’ve ever spent,” Graham said, according to a widely circulated video.
