Van Hollen Says Israel is Intentionally Starving Gazan Children, a 'War Crime,' But Votes in Favor of $14 Billion for Netanyahu Anyway
The coward said in a later statement that he fully supports Israel's right to defend itself.
We noted earlier this week that for a rare moment, it seemed a U.S. senator was willing to criticize Israel for its war crimes in Gaza.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., said earlier this week that Israel is preventing food and water into Gaza as the population faces dramatic shortages and children are now dying from “the deliberate withholding of food.”
“That is a war crime. It is a textbook war crime. And that makes those who orchestrate it war criminals,” he said. “So now the question is what will the United States do? What will we do? What will President Biden do? President Biden must take action in response to what is happening.”
But even knowing that Israel is collectively punishing Palestinians and starving out innocent children, the spineless Van Hollen voted to send Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his extremist Knesset another $17 billion to fund the massacre.
Van Hollen, like the good boy that he is, said in a statement that he supports the war funding for Israel like “the Iron Dome” to protect Israel from Hamas and other rocket attacks.
“The October 7th Hamas terrorist attack on Israel was horrific, and we must prevent any such future horrors. I fully support Israel’s right, indeed its duty, to defend itself,” he said.
