Vance: No Genocide in Gaza Because I Don't Think Israel's Trying to Murder Every Palestinian
Host tells VP that it's scary because sometimes it feels Washington puts Israel first
Vice President JD Vance appeared on Theo Von’s podcast and was asked about his thoughts on what’s going on inside Gaza, as Israel continues to ramp up its massacre campaign with the full support of the Trump administration.
Von, who has called Gaza a genocide, told Vance that the American public has been fed a steady stream of gruesome videos from the battered enclave. He said it’s “scary” because Washington funds the IDF and “sometimes it feels like we look out for the interest of Israel, before we look out for the interest of America.”
Vance said he disagreed with the classification of a genocide because he does not believe that Israel is trying to kill every Palestinian.
“I think you’re a great dude, so we don’t always have to agree on everything. Do I think it’s a genocide? No.”
He continued, “Because I don’t think the Israelis are purposely going in and trying to murder every Palestinian. I don’t think that’s what they’re doing.”
The UN’s definition of genocide states: To constitute genocide, there must be a proven intent on the part of perpetrators to physically destroy a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. Cultural destruction does not suffice, nor does an intention to simply disperse a group. It is this special intent, or dolus specialis, that makes the crime of genocide so unique. In addition, case law has associated intent with the existence of a State or organizational plan or policy, even if the definition of genocide in international law does not include that element.
Dr Melanie O'Brien, president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS), told Middle East Eye: “Applying the legal definitions of genocide as found in the Genocide Convention and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, I would determine that what is happening in Gaza constitutes genocide.”
She continued: “The definition involves acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. These include killing or imposing conditions meant to bring about physical destruction," she explained, referring to the definition of genocide under the Genocide Convention. What we are witnessing fits within that legal definition.”
MEARSHEIMER: Trump's Post About Putin Call Has Glaring Issue
John Mearsheimer, the University of Chicago professor, told Daniel Davis’s “Deep Dive” on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump’s post on Truth Social was telling for anybody who has been paying attention, and could show the drift between Washington and Moscow.
JD Vance, Trump and all the zionists around them are DEMONS.
With VP Vance making a statement that Israel is not committing genocide he must think the US citizens are stupid. I did not vote for my tax payer money to support Israel or Ukraine. I want my tax money to support the US citizens even thro our government hates it's own citizens by the actions they do.
