The Trends Journal has documented how Trump follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s lead on issues in the Middle East, in part, because the Israeli is a more powerful figure in Washington than even Trump.

Netanyahu benefits from the support of the pro-Israel lobby in the U.S. and Congress.

A total of 52 members of the U.S. Senate and 177 members of the House of Representatives sent Trump a letter demanding that no enrichment is allowed in Iran. (Cotton signed the letter.)

“The United States cannot afford another deal that gives Iran room to maneuver. The regime must be stripped of all enrichment capacity—even for peaceful energy purposes,” the letter read.

Cotton represents the Christian Zionists in Congress who Netanyahu depends on to keep full U.S. support, even as he carries out a genocide in Gaza and attacks his neighbors with impunity.
