WWIII: Ukraine Test Fires its First 'Ballistic Missile' as Escalation Before Election Seems Inevitable
Ukraine cannot defeat Russia on the battlefield so it continues to target soft targets.
The Trends Journal has said Ukraine will try to dramatically escalate the war against Russia before the U.S. presidential election to entice Russia to respond in a way that draws the American military into the war because it would benefit Kamala Harris’s campaign.
Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelesnky, who continues to lose ground in eastern Ukraine, announced “positive” results from his country’s first test fire of a homemade ballistic missile.
“There was a positive test of the first Ukrainian ballistic missile,” Zelensky said. “I congratulate our military production complex on this.”
He did not disclose any additional information on the launch, but a ballistic missile in Ukraine’s possession is meant to send a message to Moscow. At the same time, RT, the Russian news outlet, reported that Kyiv has been trying to get Western countries to agree on allowing it to use long-range missiles that have been provided to strike deep inside Russia.
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, said reports that the West wants to ban these weapons of use deep inside Russia are “just a ruse” to pretend that NATO does not want the war to escalate.
“The West does not want to avoid escalation. The West is asking for trouble, to put it bluntly. I reckon that this is already obvious to everyone,” he said.
He continued, “We will repeat that playing with fire – and they are like children playing with matches – is a very dangerous thing to do for grown-ups who are entrusted with nuclear weapons in one or another Western country.”
