Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with President Joe Biden in Washington on Wednesday and the meeting went as expected: more money and more weapons for Ukraine, no talk about how to achieve a peaceful settlement.
When asked what a “just peace” would look like, Zelensky, stumped, said his peace would mean “no compromises as to sovereignty, freedom, and territorial intergirty of my country, the payback for all the damages inflicted by Russian aggression. “There can’t be any just peace in the war that was imposed on us by these … inhumans, I would say.”
TRENDPOST: Zelensky’s decision to call Russians less than human is an old-school propaganda technique. Washington is going to start trying to get Americans to hate Russians, not just mistrust them. You can sell a war when there is hate.
Zelensky was very deliberate in what his idea of a “just peace” would look like, and he clearly has Crimea in mind.
The New York Times noted that Biden said that Zelensky is willing to pursue a “just peace,” but warned that “We also know that Putin has no intention, no intention of stopping this cruel war.”
WAS RUSSIA BEHIND NORD STREAM ATTACK?
He told Zelensky, “You will never stand alone.”
Congress just announced $44.9 billion in additional aid for Ukraine and NATO allies. The White House announced a new $2 billion arms package that will include the Patriot air-defense system. The U.S. will also send additional Joint Direct Attack Munitions kits, or JDAMs, to Ukraine.
Washington has provided Ukraine with about $21.3 billion in military aid since Russia launched its invasion, The Associated Press reported.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Belarussian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, to announce new military cooperation and to form a “single defense space.”
The BBC reported that Putin has been pressuring Minsk to take an active role in the conflict. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, called the reports “totally stupid, groundless fabrications.”
Sharing a border with both Russia and Ukraine Belarus President Lukashenko said his country would “never be enemies” with Russia.
“This is the state closest to us, the peoples closest to us,” he said. “I think that as long as we are in power, we will adhere to this trend. If it were otherwise, it would be like in Ukraine.”
TREND FORECAST: We maintain our forecast that Russia will defeat Ukraine despite the billions being sent by the U.S. and its allies to Ukraine in military equipment and financial aid. Yet, the Western media keeps selling the propaganda that despite most of Ukraine being under attack by Russia, and some 70 percent of its electrical infrastructure destroyed, Ukraine is winning the war.
Also, The Trends Journal has reported extensively on how the U.S. is at war with Russia, but it will not be officially declared until a nuclear exchange or a major false flag attack. (See “U.S. AT WAR WITH RUSSIA: SPECIAL FORCES ARE ON THE GROUND IN UKRAINE” and “U.S. DISREGARDS RUSSIA’S WARNING…AGAIN, SAYS UKRAINE CAN TARGET TERRITORY SEIZED BY RUSSIAN FORCES.”)
Give Zelenskyy and Biden guns and let them be Ukraine cannon fodder.
