F-CK PALESTINIAN CHILDREN: Fighting Pause Announced for Gaza Only After Warnings of Risk of Polio Spread to Israelis

The "international community" couldn't give a shit about Palestinian children becoming infected.

A brief ceasefire in Gaza was announced Thursday only after health officials warned of the risks to Israelis if the disease spreads.

Israel and Hamas agreed to separate, three-day pauses in fighting so medical personnel could administer polio vaccines after a Gazan child was left paralyzed after coming down with the disease due to the U.S.-backed humanitarian blockade.

The vaccination campaign is due to start on Sunday and pauses will take place between 6 am and 3 pm local time, according to Middle East Eye.

Israel only agreed to the deal after a UN official noted that polio knows no borders and would put Israeli children at risk. Israel has been conducting a brutal blockade and Gaza’s sewage system has been all but destroyed by IDF forces.

“This talk about a humanitarian ceasefire in order to provide Gaza children with polio vaccine shows how monstrous this world is. This vaccine is not meant to save the children who are dying under Israeli strikes nonstop, but to keep it from spreading to the rest of the world,” Raja Abdulhaq, a Palestinian activist, posted.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the World Health Organization, posted on X: “A #polio vaccination campaign in #Gaza is planned to begin on 1 September. We welcome the commitment to humanitarian pauses in specific areas, and suspension of evacuation orders for the implementation of the campaign. But the only lasting medicine is peace. The only way to fully protect all the children of Gaza is a ceasefire.”

Abdul Rahman, who is 10 months old, was left paralyzed by the virus and was the first case in the enclave in 25 years.

The WHO said it wants to diagnose 640,000 children.

Giora Eiland, the former head of the Israeli National Security Council, spoke about how rampant disease could benefit the military campaign.

The international community warns us of a humanitarian disaster in Gaza and of severe epidemics. We must not shy away from this, as difficult as that may be. After all, severe epidemics in the south of the Gaza Strip will bring victory closer and reduce casualties among IDF soldiers.
