Israel Killing off Children in Gaza
UN says U.S.-backed IDF militants in Gaza have killed more children in the enclave than in every global conflict between 2019 and 2022 combined
U.S.-backed IDF militants in Gaza have killed more Gazan children in just over four months than “the number of children killed in four years of wars around the world combined,” according to the UN.
“This war is a war on children,” Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UNRWA. “It is a war on their childhood and their future.”
Around 1.7 million people in the Gaza Strip are estimated to have been internally displaced, including half children. These children “do not have enough access to water, food, fuel, and medicine. Their homes have been destroyed; their families torn apart,” the agency said.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who faced criticism early in the conflict for refusing to call for a ceasefire, called for the U.S. to end all funding for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
ISRAEL TARGETS ANOTHER FOOD DEPOT, DOZENS OF CASUALTIES
“Hundreds of thousands of children are facing starvation. Stop this war right now—no more money for Netanyahu’s government,” Sanders posted on X.
Michael Fakhri, the UN special rapporteur on the right to food and a law professor at the University of Oregon, told The Guardian last month that Israel is intentionally starving Palestinians and should be held accountable for war crimes.

“There is no reason to intentionally block the passage of humanitarian aid or intentionally obliterate small-scale fishing vessels, greenhouses, and orchards in Gaza—other than to deny people access to food,” he said. He continued, “Intentionally depriving people of food is clearly a war crime. Israel has announced its intention to destroy the Palestinian people, in whole or in part, simply for being Palestinian. In my view as a UN human rights expert, this is now a situation of genocide. This means the state of Israel in its entirety is culpable and should be held accountable—not just individuals or this government or that person.”
To date, more than 31,184 Palestinians have been killed and 72,889 injured, according to the local health authorities. As of 12 March, 247 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza with 1,475 injured since the start of the ground operation, Israeli army data shows, the UN said in a statement.
The statement read:
The development came as UN humanitarians repeated dire warnings about the catastrophic situation in Gaza, where one in four is close to famine – at least 576,000 people. Some 25 individuals have now died from severe acute malnutrition and dehydration in northern Gaza according to UN aid coordination office, OCHA, 21 of them reportedly children.
Youngsters are among those least able to cope with hunger and disease, the UN Children’s Fund, UNICEF, has warned, with one million youngsters already uprooted from their homes by the war and some 17,000 unaccompanied or separated children – one per cent of the 1.7 million Gazans displaced.
What does it mean "unaccompanied?" They are Orphaned! Tens of thousands of Gazan children have been made orphans by Israel. Reports from Gaza state that 72,000 Gazan children have been orphaned by Israeli and US bombings. The US is culpable in genocide because it supplies the bombs that Israelis use to kill civilians. We hardly hear anything about Hamas unless a supporter of Israel says "Israel has a right to defend itself from Hamas." No they don't. Not in the eyes of international law. An occupying force does not have the right to claim self defense. They can defend themselves, but they cannot use self defense to justify mass murdering tens of thousands of mostly civilian children and their mothers. Nor can Israel use self defense in its assault on Hamas. Hamas, in the eyes of the court, is considered among the occupied. Netanyahu is destined to go before a criminal tribunal, just as some of the Nazis did at Nuremberg. Smoltrich, Gavir, and a few others will be seated next to him. Biden's hands also have Palestinian blood on them as do Defense Sec. Austin, and Sec of State Blinken. There are lesser known but just as guilty, Israeli and US government employees who should be called into account. I hope they are. Not for revenge sake. But for justice sake for all those killed and wounded by a fascist army under the command of neoNazis.
All over the world - it is children who are under attack. In several ways. It feels like child sacrifice. It feels like something hugely evil.
